Bike & Helmet Checkup with Free Ice Cream

A free, family-friendly safety event on the Northaven Trail

The Bike & Helmet Checkup with Free Ice Cream is one of Friends of Northaven Trail’s most popular annual community events—focused on keeping kids and adults safe, confident, and excited about riding on the trail.

Held at multiple locations along the Northaven Trail, this free event combines bike safety education, hands-on checkups, and a sweet reward at the end.

What Is the Bike & Helmet Checkup?

This event offers free bike and helmet safety checks for children, led by volunteers and partners (historically Sun & Ski Sports) who help ensure bikes are working properly and helmets fit correctly.

After the checkup, kids are treated to free ice cream, making safety education fun and memorable.

No registration required. Just bring your bike, helmet, and a big smile.
