Annual Events on the Northaven Trail
Community traditions that support the trail—year after year
Friends of Northaven Trail hosts several annual events that bring neighbors, families, and supporters together to celebrate the trail while funding improvements, native plantings, and community programs.
Some events are festive fundraisers, others are hands-on or family-focused—but all of them help keep the Northaven Trail thriving.
Valentine Clings
January - February
Lets trail users “cling” their love to the trail. Donors purchase festive clings displayed on the Trail in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Rhythm & Blooms
Spring Time (April or May)
An adults-only music fundraiser supporting the Northaven Trail wildflower program. Held at a local venue, the evening features live music, appetizers, refreshments, and fellow trail supporters.
Bagel Run
Around Mother's Day (May)
The Annual Bagel Run is a long-running community race hosted by the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center of Dallas (JCC) that brings runners, walkers, and families together for a fun and festive morning.
Bike and Helmet Checkup
Start of the School Year (September)
A family favorite, this event provides free bike safety checks and helmet fittings for kids—plus free ice cream.
Northaven TAILS
Autumn (October - November)
Northaven TAILS brings sheep and goats to the trail for targeted grazing, a natural and sustainable way to manage invasive plants. Community members are invited to visit, learn, and watch the herd at work.
Deck the Bridge
December
Deck the Bridge transforms the Joes Creek Bridge into a festive holiday landmark with seasonal décor and community cheer.
Plan Ahead
Many events happen throughout the year, while others are seasonal. Dates and details vary, so check individual event pages or follow Friends of Northaven Trail for updates.
