Northaven Trail Fourth of July flags
A patriotic community Annual event across all 9 miles of the Northaven Trail
Each year since 2023, Friends of Northaven Trail volunteers have lined the full 9-mile corridor with more than 3,000 American flags — one of the most distinctive Fourth of July displays in North Dallas. The flags go up the weekend before July 4 and come down the weekend after, giving the entire trail a patriotic look for about 10 days each summer.
Whether you want to help place flags, remove them after the holiday, or simply enjoy a walk or bike ride along the trail, we invite the community to participate.
How You Can Help
Volunteers help place flags along sections of the trail before July 4th and collect them afterward.
No experience is needed — families, scout groups, neighborhoods, businesses, and individuals are all welcome.
