The Preston Road access point of the Northaven Trail offers a convenient place to join one of North Dallas’s most popular walking and biking trails. Located near Preston Road and our long-time partners Northaven United Methodist Church, this access point connects nearby neighborhoods to the nine-mile paved Northaven Trail corridor, making it easy to enjoy outdoor activity close to home. The closest parking lot to this access point is the parking lot on the west side of Preston.

Founders Gardening Club of Dallas Garden

The Founders Gardening Club of Dallas maintains a lovely garden along the trail, just west of Royalshire Drive. Every spring and summer the flowers here bring vibrant colors and wonderful aromas to the trail. This garden also has two drinking fountains - one for humans and another for their pets.

Northaven United Methodist Church

Northaven United Methodist Church has provide trail users with a lovely shaded respite, where people can sit under live oaks and enjoy the day. They also host their annual Art on the Trail event bringing together a wonderful collection of local arts for trail users to enjoy.

Egdemere Road Respite

With many picnic tables and lovely shade, this is a common gathering spot for trail users, including parents walking the trail to pick their students up at Dealy. It also has one of our six informational kiosks where we regularly post news about the trail and events.
