There are many ways that Dallas-area community groups (for example: schools, Girl Scouts (Gold Award), Trail Life, American Heritage Girls, and Boy Scouts (Merit Badge and Eagle Scout)) can get involved with the Northaven Trail.

Previous projects:

  • Scouts repainted the bridge over Bachman Creek

  • Installing gear and planting at Welch Respite

  • Cleaned up trash along the trail

  • High School Students weeding along the trail

  • Making and distributing wildflower seed bombs

  • Installing a new bike repair station

  • Book exchange box

  • Cleaning out debris under the trail bridges

  • Planting pollinator gardens

Ideas for future Projects:

  • Installing informational signs along the trail identifying local plants, birds, and mammals

  • Planting, protection and promoting milkweed along the trail for the Monarch butterflies

  • Fundraising for new benches
