Every September, we participate in the North Texas Giving Day (NTGD), which is our single largest source of donations. Our Trail Ambassadors help us get the word out and raise awareness of our annual fund raising goals starting Sept 1, 2023 up to and including Sept 21, 2023 (the actual NTGD).

Prizes are based on amounts of money raised.
Looking for Community Service Hours?
If you want, you can get ten (10) community service hours for your efforts. All you need to do is raise at least $200. At the end of North Texas Giving Day, we will send you letter confirming your efforts for helping us raise funds for the trail.

The Northaven Trail is a commuter and recreational bike and hike trail built and maintained by the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department. The trail runs from Central Expressway to Denton Drive with plans to connect to the White Rock Creek Trail on the east and Irving’s Campion Trail on the west. The eastern expansion began in June, 2021, with a bridge over US 75 and is expected to be complete by summer 2023.

Each donation goes directly to Friends of Northaven Trail via Community Partners of Dallas.

Anyone can sign up to be a Trail Ambassador.
For example:
Trail users who want to help raise funds for the trail.
Students who would like to earn community service hours.
Groups like schools, school clubs, youth groups, Girl and Boy Scout troops, churches, Neighborhood associations, etc.

Many high schools and other programs require students or their members to get a certain number of community service hours each year. The Trail Ambassador program is setup to recognize their help in promoting our NTGD fundraising drive.

The Friends of Northaven Trail use the funds it raises throughout the year to maintain and improve the Northaven Trail. This includes, but not limited to, planting along the trail, hiring summer interns to help maintain the trail (https://northaventrail.org/trail-crew ), host events (e.g. Bike Repairs, Movie Nights, Ice Cream Socials, etc) and installing new amenities (e.g. new respites, drinking fountains, etc.).
